Online Webinar: IHM, Ship Recycling and The Impact on Supply Chain Management
What is the webinar about?
The EU Ship Recycling Regulation requires ship owners to create an inventory of hazardous materials (IHM) by the end of 2020. This has led to confusion among members and the industry around what exactly is required, who is responsible and what its likely impact will be on the supply chain.
Although many shipowners have already gained certification for their IHMs on their initial compliance through the class societies, there is a wider concern around ongoing IHM maintenance based on Suppliers Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) and Material Declarations (MD).
What the impact of “material compliance documentation” will be on the supply chain and day-to-day work is still uncertain for many. With several companies suggesting different approaches based on different interpretations an efficient fulfilment is not guaranteed. What is the expectation of the supplier within this domain presents another area of uncertainty?
When will this take place?
The webinar will take place on Wednesday, 16 December 2020, between 09.00 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. CET.
What is the format?
In this webinar presented by IMPA for its members, the IMPA council will share their experiences, attitudes and approach to IHM alongside industry experts. Over the course of the webinar, IHM’s impact on the supply chain will be explored and questions asked that will help members, both owners and suppliers alike, to gain clarity on existing uncertainties and to plan their next steps properly.
