With four days spent in the Norwegian capital at one of the leading international shipping events, IMPA has had the chance to network, debate and catch up with many of its members.
Ha det bra, Norway! Despite the rainy weather, Nor-Shipping has been very good to the IMPA team who had a great few days at the landmark event. The team has met so many of the IMPA members and had a fantastic time. With so much focus on digitisation, industry 4.0, regulatory change and sustainability, it is great to know that our industry is constantly moving forward.
Many thanks to the Danish Marine Group for helping the team organise a super matchmaking event that resulted in some productive meetings between DMG and IMPA members. The support of Mark Lerche and Riikka Kuusilehto was highly appreciated.
On a different note, the team met Richard Clayton of IHS Maritime who will be one of the conference speakers this year at IMPA London. He’ll be discussing digitisation and recruitment, and how to make sure that you hire today the leaders of tomorrow, so make sure to check out our London event programme.
The team also came across Jason Barreto and Holly Bibby of Videotel Marine International with whom we spoke about IT and digitisation; Jason told IMPA how encouraging it is that the shipping industry is embracing the digital era and adapting to technological change. We couldn’t agree more; IMPA does its best to steer professionals in that direction and will introduce the industry’s game changers at this year’s event. Look out for the final panel discussion at this year’s conference.
All in all, it felt great to see that IMPA has been so well represented at Nor-Shipping, not only with the participation of our team, but also Mikael Karlsson of Francois Marine Group (our IMPA Ambassador in Norway), Jesus Barba of Bayport (our IMPA Ambassador in Spain) and Simon Potter of Inchcape Shipping Services (our very own Council Member). This, as well as meeting many IMPA members, supporters and exhibitors, made us feel very proud that you can get to know IMPA everywhere. Many thanks to everybody we've met these past few days!
