The UK Chamber of Shipping and International Marine Purchasing Association (IMPA) are delighted to announce a new partnership that seeks to increase collaboration on sustainability.

While shipping is essential to maintaining UK and wider global prosperity ensuring that the industry is minimising its impact on the environment is crucial. This new partnership will aim to bring people from across the industry together to share ideas and initiatives that can increase the sustainability of shipping.
The first steps of this new partnership are two meetings in September at part of IMPA London.
The first will focus on the creation of an action plan for future joint workstreams, while the second is being held in partnership with the British Tugowners Association and will examine the issue of rope recycling.

The UK Chamber of Shipping’s Policy Director for the Environment Francesco Sandrelli said:
I'm thrilled that the UK Chamber of Shipping and IMPA have agreed to work together for the long term to deliver meaningful initiatives to help improve the sustainability of shipping.
It is by sharing thoughts and lessons learned that we stand the best chance of future ideas being a success for the entire industry.
